The Code 4 Initiative

The Code 4 Initiative

Neurofeedback for Pittsburgh's First Responder Community

You can train your brain to handle stress just like you train your body for physical fitness. Infra-Low Frequency (ILF) neurofeedback is a completely passive, high-performance training tool for your central nervous system and brain.

Think if your body’s “fight-or-flight” response like a building’s fire alarm. After experiencing high-stress calls, that alarm can get stuck “on,” keeping your mind and body on high alert even when you are safe at home. ILF neurofeedback targets the deepest, slowest rhythms of your brain to reset that system, effectively shutting off the false alarm so you can finally relax and decompress.

Ultimately, turning off that internal alarm is what allows you to get deep, restorative sleep and leave the job at the station. By teaching your nervous system how to shift gears dynamically, you gain the ability to switch off completely when you go off the clock.

This is not counseling or talk therapy. You do not have to talk about your experiences. It is a strictly non-verbal, physical brain training designed to help your central nervous system recover, reset, and perform at its best.

Nervous System Regulation Training for Pittsburgh Area First Responders

Whether you are in law enforcement, fire services, or EMS, you are expected to perform under pressure, make critical decisions, and stay ready for whatever comes next. Physical fitness is a standard part of the profession, but nervous system recovery often receives zero attention. Over time, that level of high-stakes demand makes it difficult to fully recover between shifts, get quality sleep, or switch off when the workday ends.

That’s why we’re launching the Code 4 Initiative. Our mission is to expand access to high-performance neurofeedback training for first responders throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area. We partner with local agencies and professionals to create opportunities for reduced-cost or no-cost neurofeedback services for those who serve our communities.

Help Us Build the Program

The Code 4 Initiative is a growing community effort. We are actively looking to collaborate with individual first responders, command staff, wellness coordinators, union representatives, and department leaders. We are also seeking community partners, donors, and local organizations to help fund and expand access to these free or reduced-cost services across the Greater Pittsburgh region.

If you are a first responder—or represent a department that wants to host a demonstration—we want to hear from you. Together, we can build a practical, efficient, performance-focused resource designed specifically for the people who answer the call.
